The Fern

By Hazel, age 9
The fern is green,
It is not small,
The fern is big,
But it is not tall.

Team Rocket's Baboon

By Hazel, age 9
I saw Team Rocket's balloon,
And in it was a baboon!
Team Rocket was yelling,
And there was no way of telling,
How big was the baboon.

In The Forest

In the forest,
Silence talks,
Of days that last forever.
Stand still,
Look about,
What time are you living in?
Is this the Jurrasic era?
Will an Allosaurus be eating you?
Is this the middle ages?
Will a knight come charging through?
Or have you slept for a thousand years?
Whatever will you see?
As long as the forest stands,
Time roams free.

The Sock from Smellville

The Sock from Smellville

From Smellville there was a young sock,
Who said "Do not mock!"
I am quite witty,
With my famous ditty,
My head is not a block.

Pickled Cat Tree

Pickled Cat Tree

Peter loves picking pickled cats,
On his pickled cat tree,
And Peter loves picking,
Pickled pepper dogs.

Peter Picker

Peter Picker

I am Peter Picker;
I can see you there.
Do you seek the monster,
Hiding in his lair;
Or have you come for my peppers,
It is a myth that I pickle them.
I wear them in my hair.

A Happy Dog

A happy dog jumps,
A happy dog leaps,
A happy dog goes off leash;
A sad dog does not.

A happy cat pounces,
A happy cat plays,
A happy cat goes outside;
A sad cat does not.

A happy bird sings,
A happy bird flies,
A happy bird goes in the sky;
A sad bird does not.
